Building students' confidence and resilience in maths
From September 2026, Cartier Coaching will offer focused 45-minute small-group sessions for Year 5 and Year 6 pupils in central Baldock.
Support is designed for two kinds of child: those who would benefit from stronger foundations in maths, reasoning, and confidence, and those already doing well who are ready to be stretched further — all without turning learning into pressure or panic.
A quick hello from Craig
Primary coaching for children who are ready for a new approach.
This is not a worksheet factory. It is thoughtful, encouraging coaching for two kinds of child: those who need to rebuild skills and confidence, and those already doing well who are ready to be stretched. Each one gets work pitched to where they actually are — support if they are behind, a real challenge if they are ahead.
Stronger foundations
Number sense, fractions, problem solving, reasoning, and the confidence to approach unfamiliar questions.
Better learning habits
Helping children become more independent, resilient, curious, and willing to try challenging work.
Room to get ahead
For confident young mathematicians: richer problems, deeper reasoning, and enrichment beyond the classroom to keep able children engaged and challenged.
A simple process for building matched groups.
Each child begins with an introductory session so I can understand their level, confidence, and goals before placing them into a carefully matched small group.
Introductory Session
A 45-minute meeting to get to know your child, discuss goals, and understand their current level.
Availability
Parents provide at least two, ideally three, after-school weekdays that could work.
Group Matching
I build small groups of 2–4 children with similar ages, confidence levels, and academic needs.
Weekly Coaching
Groups meet weekly in central Baldock for 45-minute maths coaching sessions.
